Some news, an apology and a few photos …

Scarf in Debbie Bliss Angel

Yarn: Debbie Bliss "Angel"

First of all, the apology. I can’t believe I’ve neglected you all for so long. Thank you for all the nudges, yes I’m fine. Just very very busy and the blog has come very low on a long, long  “to do” list.

Ayway, now I’m back and wanted to let you know one of the reasons I’ve been so busy. Some of you know already that I have a new job:  I’m working in Knutsford at Fibre and Clay, the most beautiful shop / gallery run by the friendliest and nicest people I’ve met in a long time. Yes, it’s tempting to spend your day surrounded such gorgeous objects and delicious yarns, but I am exercising self discpline (a bit).  The shop has branched out recently, with online sales, a facebook page and a blog so even if you can’t get to Knutsford you can experience some Fibre and Clay goodness online!

I’d be lying if I said I’m not tempted by the yarns, so feel the need to finish this post with a few pics of my latest creations .

Yarn: Rowan Silky Tweed

There has also been a fair bit of baking going on (watch out for my marmalade cake recipe here soon) and I’ve been busy learning new skills such as Tunisian Crochet

Tunisian Crochet: Lace Stitch

and after 30 plus years I have finally have a crochet granny square I made myself!

I hope you are all having a productive 2011.

Tracey x

  • Of all my Mother in Law's knitted decorations this fairy is my favourite!
#knittersofinstagram #knitting #knitmas #handmadechristmas #makingchristmas More from Mother in Law's knitivity - Mary, Joseph and the baby Jesus - this always reminds me of school nativity plays, where the girl playing the angel always manages to be centre stage!!!
#knitivity #knittednativity #knitmas #knittersofinstagram Happy knitmas! My Mother in Law has unpacked her knitted decorations, here are the three kings, part of the nativity scene which grows every year and now fills the window ledge!
#knittersofinstagram #knitmas #knitting #handmadechristmas #knittednativity Throwback to last December's family outing to Chester Zoo lanterns, a beautiful night. Ah, we knew how to Christmas in the 1960's. Missing my lovely Mum today - and love that we're both wearing outfits she made (crimplene, whatever happened to you???) The fabulous @wildzucchinis getting festive at Cockermouth Food Festival today xx
