Freshly Dug

A few tasty morsels from the allotment this week – and look – no twisty carrots this year. Stump rooted varieties suit my soil better.

  1. Just caught up with all your lovely recent blog posts, as always you are a real busy bee. Missed you at F&C’s new grand opening yesterday which was great and the ‘new’ shop looks so wonderful. Hope to catch up with you soon. x

  2. Do you have Jamie Oliver’s ‘At Home’ book – I made a very good recipe during the week with carrots and beetroot (and pork chops)….. definitely a book for someone with an allotment or productive garden!

Glad you like the new shop, Thursday was exhausting – putting all that yarn on the shelves with no time for fondling new arrivals! Hope to see you in a few weeks when all the holidays are over. Tx

  • I ♥ these so much! Playing and planning with pretty yarns from @pookgb & @bordertart today.

Finally sewed buttons on this crochet cardi, despite having a drawer full of buttons, I ended up using a scrap of liberty print to cover some blanks. Yarn is @thefibrecompany Luma, which is so soft. The blend of natural fibres make it perfect for baby makes. I buy mine from @tangledyarnuk . Teeny scissors were bought from @beyond_measure_uk

Yes, I know "everyone" on instagram sleeps under crumpled linen duvets, but after 30 years we're still using the king size Thomas the Tank Engine duvet my mother in law made as a house warming present. The other side has a more femenine print so we can take turns. Secretly, this side is my favourite!!

There's something about this colour palette that makes me want to get my knitting needles out - and another part of me that wants to be prepared & find my recipe for oak gall ink!!! Yes, still early August, but part of me is already embracing autumn!!
