Shadow Shot Sunday

For a couple of months I’ve been intrigued by fellow bloggers who post “Shadow Shot Sunday” images. So, tonight, at a bit of a loose end (Mr T and the teen both away having fun) I spent a bit of time investigating and decided to post my own shadow shot. So, here you are, my first attempt. I’m not sure it will be a regular thing, but it was fun looking through my photos to spot a shadow to include here.

I like to take photos, I’m not very good at it, but like most things what I lack in skill I make for in enthusiasm. This image was taken last month when visiting friends in Stoney Middleton for Well Dressing. Where I also took this, not strictly a shadow shot (but there are shadows), made of flower petals by local children.

If you’d rather see some decent photos, take a look at Andrea, Jo or Claire. Three amazing photographers who inspire me.

And finally thanks to Anne and MousyBrown who piqued my interest enough to go take a look at Hey Harriet’s blog.

Enjoy your weekend.

Tx

    Thanks Gemma, the petal pictures are a Derbyshire tradition for annual Well Dressing, they are fascinating to see and often full of detail.

    Your shadow shots are perfectly lovely. If you keep hunting for shadows, I’m sure you’ll find it quite addictive!

    IF I HAD A SHADOW

    If I had a shadow as big as the sky,
    I never would fear, and I’ll tell you why:

    My shadow would save me from dragons and things
    That fly in the night with terrible wings;

    My shadow would keep me away from the beast
    That sniffs in the west and sniffs in the east

    Hungry for children who play all alone,
    Hoping to feast upon blood, upon bone;

    My shadow would be my protector and knight
    To keep fear at bay, to banish all fright.

    I’m so glad my shadow is always nearby,
    Though it’s not nearly as big as the sky!

  7. Hi Tracey – welcome to the addictive world of shadows …… now you will be seeing them everywhere you go. Malcolm points them out to me, and even Stuart (my son) has been known to email shadow photos to me for inclusion in my SSSposts!! I love your lamp – lovely crisp shadows.

Three weeks ago I lost one of my best friends, but I have found solace in these 2 beautiful girls, now women, making their way in the world and knowing that they learned these lessons from the example set by their mothers.
